Do You Need Copies
of Your Own Artwork?
If you are thinking of having your work reproduced in any form, whether as a Giclée or as Offset Litho, or for the Web, you will need high quality photos or digital images to show them at their best.
Nowadays many gallery owners and competition entry-forms ask for high quality images of your artwork on CD-Rom or DVD. If you don't know how to do this properly, or you only have a budget digital camera, the results can be very disappointing and look amateurish. Even on web sites it is important to have the best quality possible. Small jpegs literally don't bear close examination. Not good for sales! Also, some galleries still prefer 35mm slides, and these can be difficult to get the exposure and colour balance just right.
Paintings and drawings need to be lit evenly, and reflections avoided. Colour rendition is extremely important for reproduction, and this can only be done properly with good quality lighting equipment - preferably studio flash. The alignment of the art work has to be accurate to avoid converging verticals and distortions. Digital photos have to be saved not as jpegs, but as Tiff or Raw files, to preserve as much detail as possible.
I use high quality Nikon cameras and lenses, both digitally and on 35mm film, and have a portable studio lighting kit, which enables me to capture your art in the best light.

£10.00 per artwork (minimum fee £30.00) + travel expenses.
For each artwork I will supply a high quality TIFF file (uncompressed), + 1 large JPEG. The images are presented on a CD-ROM, included in the price. You can of course make multiple copies from this later if you wish. For a little extra I can prepare a self-running computer slide show, so that the viewer just has to slot the CD in their computer and hey presto - the slide show starts.
35mm Slide Film Photography
£12.00 per artwork (minimum fee £36.00) + film processing costs + travel expenses.
35mm slide film has 36 shots per roll, so I could shoot a whole roll on one work of art, or 6 slides for 6 works of art.
All of these prices include my time, remembering that I have to prepare and burn the CD-Rom later.Medium Format (6x8 cms) Slide Film Photography
£15.00 per artwork (minimum fee £45.00) + processing costs (around £20.00 per film) + travel expenses. There are 8 shots on a roll of medium format film of this type. If more than one film is required processing costs would reflect this.
Digital Movies and DVD: Please ask. There are too many variables here to give a price.
